Water is an important element of our environment. We cannot live a single day without it. It is the main element of our body. So water is called life. But polluted water is harmful. Water is being polluted in different ways. Farmers use chemical fertilizers and insecticides in their fields and pollute water. Besides, these, Mills and factories throw their waste into rivers and canals and pollute water. Different kinds of waste pollute it. Water pollution causes many problems. It causes various water-borne diseases like cholera, diarrhoea etc.

It leads us to the way of death. Polluted water is in no way safe. The water-filled with filth, dust and germs is in every way of harmful to human life. To live a healthy life, we should take all-out measures to minimize water pollution. Water should be purified by boiling it for twenty minutes. So it is high time to take proper steps to control water pollution. 

We should not throw waste into water. The most important thing is to create public awareness in this regard. Mass media like radio, television, newspaper etc can play an important role in making people aware of the dangers of water pollution.
